I missed the day after I started and oil pulled every other day since.

I think my teeth look whiter, but I’m more interested in my gums.

I’m going to order some new organic essential oils to add.
Found out my sister paid £20 for 14 wee tiny teeny weeny tubes of coconut oil and essential oils to do what I’m doing. I think that is a rip off. My coconut oil is at the most £16 a jar and lasts for ages … well would if I didn’t use it as a moisturiser or hair care or cooking or healing or lots of stuff (I have a few jars in the kitchen, bathroom and both bedrooms ).

it’s been a weird day

Today has not been too good at all.

we didnt get up with the alarm, i didnt make any juices, son starts his homework as im ready to leave the house, ended with us leaving at 9.05, instead of 08.40 (at the latest to get us their just.on.time.). In the end up he was in tears, i was shouting, he is grounded, with no staying at his other grans and no hockey on saturday night.

I feel like crap. i barely ever  shout like that, but he has had this homework for over 2 weeks now, i’ve continually told him to do it. its for a teacher he doesnt like so i understand that he doesnt want the memories of her encrouching his holiday/time off from school, but to pull it out at twenty minutes to 9 was disrespectful for himself, to me and to his school. He cried the whole way to school. when we got theirwe stood int he car park for a good ten minutes just huggng and trying to get his tears to stop. I have told him he car earn back going to stay at his grans and we will see about the hockey.

As i said, i made no juices this morning. Used to not be much of an issue as we had a Zume Juice bar in town, but new owners of the mall have made all the “stall” type shops move into actual shops and Zumo moved to Glasgow instead. So today i drank a bit of water, ate some german meatballs i had to use up and had some frozen kefir. was nice not to over powering of flavour and hit the spot til i get home and make a juice for my dinner.

Oh, hold on! I can see a .1kg increase 😦

It could be as its time of the month. or could be because i didnt do much exercise.

Kick Off.

I’m soo fat that i can eat my cheeks. Actually on the inside my teeth bite my cheeks without even meaning to. Its horrible. I used to laugh at them and call them my hamster cheeks, but really, it is no laughing matter.

My knees hurt, a lot. Going to the gym is out of the question for me just now, I’d do some serious damage if i was to go back and attempt what i could do a few months ago.

So i am doing the 7lb in 7 days juice detox/diet/plan to help me loose some of this quickly, to take the pressure off my joints, and make it easier for me to then go back and start slowly.

We are starting back swimming once a week as well as ice skating on Sundays, plus my daily walks, so exercise is being done, just not as much, as hard or as often as i would like. But i’ve got to start somewhere!

Today is Day 1 of the diet.

I made 2 turbo express and 2 super juice. topped up the 2 super juice with coconut water.

I even woke up early this morning! But still didnt have time to make the 4 drinks, (2 are the same) so i made 2 of two types. Today i am out from 9 am til around 11pm (work and Ice Hockey.) So its not the best day to start, but no putting off til tomorrow waht you can start today!

Around 11 am i was feeling very tired, I work on a pc and i feel it draines me something awful. i perked up after my walk to morrisons at lunch time. I was at morrisons for some beetroot, but they didnt have any 😦 and i picked up chocolate and juice for at the Clan game for the kids. £6.88 spent and i got 2 punnets of yellow cherry tomatoes for 49p each! some avocados as well. I figured as i will be missing 2 drinks tonight i could eat the tomatoes instead , if i felt i needed more than just water. Ithink the banana would be too much at that time of the night.

Its now 15.45 and im starting to get hungry.

My Challenge continued

I lost track of the days, but Friday i ate pasta for dinner, Saturday i done the same 2 juices through the day, and pasta for dinner, sunday i had 3 juices spread out through the day and was felling extremely full around 6 pm,

Monday, I onlytook 2 juices to work, had a pepermint tea as well, my mum asked to meet me straight after work to go a walk, by 5.30 i was feeling rather famished. Ate a few strawberries on the way home after stopping into lidl to pick up some veg supplies. By time i got home around half 7 or 8 o’clock i was feeling starved. I grabbed the first thing i seen which was a chocolate cookie. then another. and a few mini rolls too. I actually felt rather dissapointed in myself. not because i have no will power, or that i was not following the ‘diet’ to the letter but because i was eating food that doesnt really taste like food should. i never had time to go weigh myself.

Tuesday I woke up nice and early, raring to go. My #JillianMichaels dvd doesnt work in the x-box. I bent down to pick up some veg that had dropped and i felt a twinge go in my lower back. It wasn’t painfull then, but it has been ever since (now thursday) I also had the dentist on Tuesday, think i have like another 3 teeth with problems 😦 also noted that i have a clicky jaw. I currently have an absece so grudgingly agreed to root treatment on the tooth they think is causing the problems. I think its the tooth behind it. Went and weighed myself with a girl from work. I am now down to 12 stone 6 lbs.

I lost 5lbs since the monday before!

Wednesday my back was still sore, i also had sore tender tooth where they had done a bit of the prep and clean out on my tooth. I made a minty sunshine without the mint for at work. and bought a detox special from the juice place in town. Had chilli and rice for dinner – on a side plate. bed early.

 

Today i have had a mini roll (why oh why do i do it. thay are not even nice to eat!!!) all because i didnt have enough time this morning to get everything done.  Also a bottle of orange juice. not fresh orange juice, but bottled stuff. grr.

 

No 30 Day Shred has been done. I need to move the dvd player from the room to the living room. and hope my back gets better asap. I’m doing Pretty Mudder in 2 weeks!

And did I tell you, I signed up for Tough Mudder too!

5lbs in 5 days – My ‘challenge’

I’ve decided to do the 5lb in 5 days challenge following Jason Vales book.

I bought all the shopping list minus the pineapples as they shred my mouth and throat – i love pineapple too.

Day 1 – slept in!
My alarm switched off and my mobile fone did its ‘i’m charging so lets mess with her and switch off and flash but not switch back on until she reboots me’ thing. It’s really annoying!

And made the turbo juice. it needs 1/4 pineapple, i decided to instead use orange juice – and promptly forgot.
It tastes lovely. With a bit more tang than what i think it probably would have with the pineapple/orange juice.

My exercise of choice today is Jillian Michaels 30 day shred.
So far soo good.

I have to have the turbo twice and another juice twice today too as well as herbal teas and water, and emergency banana or avocado.

Lets see how tomorrow goes.

Weigh In week 4

Yesterdays weigh in was better than expected. Last week i ate food i dont normally eat, and i done it twice! I ate at burger king. I had vouchers. so i made the monetary decision of we are in town for a few hours, we need to eat, i have these vouchers in my bag. £2 for a meal, i got one for me and mum one day and next day me and son. £8 on 4 meals. not bad for in the town eating.

On Sunday was a really bad day food wise. i had no fruits or veg in the house to make juices with. i ate cereal for breakfast. Ive been weaning myself off cereal for about a year now, i am mostly ok and only have a bowl once in a while. it was weetabix minis with chocolate. not the worst cereal to have.

we went to a family fun day for The Clan, picked up our supporters cards and bought some home baking.

The chocolate brownies where delicious. i ate 2 in the car without the kids noticing!

Then with dinner i had 3 glasses of wine which probably worked out at 1 large glass of wine. I pour mine like its a spirit and dilute it with 7up.

I went shopping yesterday and got a load of veggies and fruits. forgot to get cold meat for the boys school lunches.

Did pick up one of these lunch boxes, who am i kidding, i got 2! I did only pay £12 for them both though.

Wee Man has in his – garlic and herb wrap (13p) filled with goats cheese (10p); bottom layer, 1 peperami (50p) halved to fit in box on top layer, grapes (10p) and blueberries (10p) in one tub, cucumber (5p) in the other tub and a little cup of mango jelly (22p) and a tiny teeny spoon. (he also has a chocolate crossant (26p)for snack in his bag). Total – £1.46 for his lunch

He took the picture himself, in the back of the car, and was very annoyed that the car was making it all bumpy and not let him get a good shot.

In mine i got grapes (10p) in one tub, cucumber (5p) in the other, chinese leaf lettuce (15p) and a red pepper (25p). I didnt have time to cut the avocado (69p), nor peel the mandarins (60p for 10, think i will eat 3 or 4 today, so 24p) so they came in a bag to work. i have eaten all the lettuce, red pepper and cucumber for breakfast. Total £1.48

They look slightly different as i took out the divider on my side section to put in more lettuce, and i took out the tray in my middle section.

Prices are estimates, the purchase price divided by how many portions i think i will get from it and X by the amount i used.

£2.94 for 2 lunches and snacks. Compaired to £1.85 for school and £3 for work.

Not bad for a very last minute rush job. And on the cheap too!

Failing with money

I feel like I am failing miserably with my aim of £45 per week. In reality I am not. I am going over by at most £20. this extra spend has went on christmas and birthday presents. so I am ahead for most of the year.

I shouldn’t beat myself up about it, but I can’t not beat myself up.

 

It is making me think before I make purchases. Like recently we decided we are going to learn to snowboard. One of my friends advised me to get the membership passes as I then get 30% discount on lessons. Sounds good. It also comes with 2 hours free and then agian on your birthday. and cheaper passes when using the facilities. So I go to the desk to ask for more info, and the girl tells me that its £79 for a student and £69 for a child for the year. And that they have summer camps available.

they are £229 for a week. kids drop off at 8.30 am, and pick up at 5.30pm. lunch and snacks are included.

Also a membership is included too.

So really £160 for the week, plus buy a membership and he will be snowboarding in a week. In the afternoons they do other activities, like go to the cinema, ten pin bowling, crazy golf. Its actualy reasonably priced for everything included.

If i was to pay for 9 hours a day at his current after school care group, it would be £172.5 for the week .

I am going to get the membership passes anyways, aw jeez; I am talking myself into this week camp, which was not the point of me telling all this. My point was that I didn’t just sign up for it.

 

Now I am going to have a talk with Wee Man and see how he feels about it all. as value for money it is better.

 

So lets recap. I spent more than I wanted to recently, but not as much as i normally would have.

Me and wee man decided to learn a sport together so we could go have fun. We decided on snowboarding. We both need lessons. I’ve found a relatively cheaper way for him to learn, but not me. I will need to leave it till the following month to get my lessons and membership. a plan seems to be forming. And not one that is cheap nor going to pay the mortgage earlier.

Alarm Clock

I am most certainly in the lots of alarms camp.

One thing I invested in somewhat recently was a ‘body clock’ that mimics the sunrise to gently ease you out of bed. Works great in the winter, not so great in the summer. Before we got this, our mornigs where hellish. Jump starts when you hear the alarm going that is for when you should be out the door, so quick wash, throw clothes on, grab breakfast to go and drive like a maniac. In between all that everything is going wrong, from wee man forgetting to take his pjs off and putting uniform over them, to me not brushing my teeth (apologies to anyone speaking to me at the school! i do brush them when i get to work). After we got the alarm clock with the sunrise, we were up at a reaonable time, with time for a breakfast at the table, proper snacks packed in bags, clothes on in correct order with no forgetting to take of bed clothes, time even for showers! and of proper brushing of ones teeth.

Now that summer is here, and it is actually sunny in the morning, my body alarm clock is a little redundant. The sun decides to wake us at stupic o’clock in the morning – somewhere around five thirty AM, so i roll back over to sleep, trusting my normal alarms on my phone to do the job of nature. Which always fails. and we wake around twenty past eight in the morning, when we have to leave at twenty minutes to nine for us to get to school on time or if traffic is good, a little earlier. Only difference between these get up times and pre-body clock times, is that we are still getting up a bit earlier and we are not I am not shouting at my son for silly mistakes.

 

Thankfully, only 2 more weeks til school holidays!
